What exactly is a root canal?
A root canal (endodontic treatment) involves removing the “pulp”—the soft center of the tooth containing nerves and blood vessels—when it becomes inflamed or infected. The dentist cleans and disinfects the inside of the tooth, then fills and seals it with a rubber-like material called gutta-percha.
Does a root canal hurt?
Contrary to popular belief, a root canal is intended to relieve pain, not cause it. Is a crown necessary after a root canal?
